In this video tutorial I explain how to write a business plan for a milkshake shop, and how to eventually open a milkshake place. This isn’t an easy business. In fact, it is one of the most difficult businesses. The reason a milkshake shop is such a difficult business is that it has very low margins on the product it sells, and does not sell alcohol. In the restaurant industry, it is well known that alcohol makes the most profits. Because this kind of a business has smaller profits, it must make it up by serving a large volume of people. And since a large volume of people is required, rent costs are also typically bigger. All in all, this kind of a business has the worst of all worlds. The way to make this kind of a business succeed is to make it themed, and make it an experience. Make it more than a milkshake place. If you make it an experience, and the milkshakes are truly great, you can charge higher prices and make this business a success.
